BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, gave a positive response to the development that Indonesian drivers are now able to drive the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
He said this during a press conference of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Friday (2/8) in response to a question from a Shenzhen TV representative who reported that PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) announced the success of Indonesian drivers in operating the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (HSR) at a speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour.
This achievement marks significant progress in the training of drivers involved in the Jakarta-Bandung HSR project, and is the basis for independent operation and maintenance of railways in Indonesia.
Lin Jian explained that since the Jakarta-Bandung HSR began operating last year, teams from China and Indonesia have worked together intensively in various aspects, including high-speed train operation, personnel training, and technology transfer.
According to Lin Jian, the Chinese team has successfully trained more than 160 Indonesian personnel, including drivers, in this HSR project.
"Indonesia now has its own high-speed rail technology team, which is an achievement we are very grateful for," Lin Jian said.He added that this is a concrete example of the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Indonesia.
This cooperation also illustrates the principles of extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefits within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Lin Jian emphasized that China is ready to continue working with Indonesia to make the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway a sustainable success project.
He hopes that this project can be a source of prosperity, happiness, and offer safe and high-quality travel for the Indonesian people. (*)
